Yesterday was Israeli`s National Day of Mourning - Memorial Day. A sombre day during which we all remember and pay tribute to those heroes who served in our great IDF & to the innocent victims of terror, who paid the ultimate price. A day in which, as a Nation, we feel unmeasurable bereavement, sadness and sorrow as we jointly shed tears and feel heartache for their families and loved ones.
Then just after sunset, in sharp contradiction, all over the country, we take to the streets in celebration.
Glory be, for I am here, as a Jew (who`s mother, father & grandmother are all Holocaust Survivors), filled with pride and joy at being a part of this Great Nation.
Well done, to all the people of Israel for creating a haven for this generation, against all odds, and in spite of all doubts. Israel and her people, the world over, deserve to celebrate.
