Bush era policies got Hamas into power and drove them into Iran`s arms. Israel has tried twice to reverse this by force of arms, with zero success. Nada. Zip. Using the IDF on Gaza`s civilians did not make them love Israel or Fatah or the US. Dov Weissglass` diet drove them into Iran`s arms.
Nearly 3 years of siege of Gaza hasn`t worked either. Every military action has actually strengthened Hamas political foot hold.
Then again, Israel did vote in Netanyahu. Maybe the US should reverse its support for Palestinian self-government to match Israel`s with not a penny more.
If Palestinian kids are to go to school or have police protection, let Israel pay for it. |
