Helping Fatah and Hamas find common ground is a good thing. It can bring a more nuanced entity to the bargaining table.
Israel will get nowhere demonizing its opponents and refusing to join at that bargaining table--except, of course, to the extent that in doing so it can continue the status quo which each day seems to result in the further colonization of the West Bank and so the enlargement (or is engorgement the right word) of Israel.
Doesn`t Israel ever take stock of why its enemies list seems to grow? Anti-semitism doesn`t cut it. I just don`t buy it. it has far more to do with Israel`s policies than its ethnicity. |
