Tikkun Olam is a part of Judaism but adopting universalistic values as social justice is also a part of Judaism but not the whole.The good rabbi should look honestly as to why his community is in decline.He might start off with Jewish education, and not confuse civil issues with Judaism. When US Jews equate womens rights, gays rights with the story of slaves in Egypt and the Passover.. well they have really lost the plot. |
