While Ben-Meir doesn`t join Lieberman in calling for the execution of "disloyal" Arab MK`s, he shares Lieberman`s condemnation of Arab MK`s who "refuse to acknowledge Israel as the state of the Jewish people and deny the very existence of a Jewish people as a nation with national rights."
The Third Riech taught most of the world the folly of considering an ethnic group a nation.
Unfortunately, too many Israelis fail to understand the difference between establishing a state relgion such as the Church of England or Shiite Islam in Iran from the notion that Jews everywhere are part of the state of Israel.
Israel`s Law of Return made sense in the aftermath of of the Nazi holocaust when there were millions of displaced Jewish refugees. However, in the 21st Century the Law of Return is backward and xenophobic.
Unfortunately, Ben-Meir is correct. Lieberman is no more racist than the hundreds of thousands of other Israelis who voted for him. |
