Re: I agree with the fellow who wrote the previous post entitled canadian born ??? Leonard Cohen feels quite rooted in Canada. He has a home here in Montreal and is a frequent visitor. Many of his songs allude to Montreal including his most famous song Suzanne. Local poets Louis Dudek, Irving Layton and F.R. Scott were his mentors. He`s a graduate of Herziliah High School, and he`s not the type of superficial person who forgets his past.
And to reply to the British scholars call for a boycott: how would depriving the Israeli public of Cohen`s message of Love and Universal Brotherhood further the cause of a lasting Israeli-Palestinian peace ? The cultural boycott is an overused device.
