| as a Roman Catholic, I must stand up and say the Vatican OWES the Jewish people not just a heartfelt apology but evidence that the histrionics and attacks on Jews WILL stop. The recent forgiveness of extremist Bishops who OPENY deny the Holocaust does not bode well for this Pope. Additionally, his push without merit for the beatification of supporters of genocide or those that have been directly involved in the process such as Pius XII, Pius IX, and Queen Isabella is proof that the Pope has no inclination to eradicate the obvious Antisemitic history of the Vatican. Further, the papal approval of Durban II, a meeting whose only purpose was to attack Israel and make illegal even the most honest criticisms of Islam puts into question the Pope`s grasp on honor and reality. While head of the Church, he is far from infallible,leading a Church with a long history of abuse, racism, and Antisemitic hysteria. He too will have to answer to a higher authority if he does not mend his errant ways. |
