| I have to ask: what planet are you guys on? First, every civilized army performs such inquiries on its actions.It is either an official inquiry, as this case appears to be, or as an academic/research function post hoc by the command structure. Second, it is clear that you all have absolutely no idea what urban warfare is about (or certainly no experience in anybody`s army)or else you would surely be less sanguine in your critiques.In actuality what the IDF`s performance in the recent Gaza war when compared with military actions by other states (casualty figures for example, and the ratio of civilian to combatant deaths)shows is that the IDF is no worse, and indeed trends toward being much better, than the militaries of other countries. (And this analysis holds up even if one were to accept the Palestinian`s inflated numbers.) Please, do you think that the US telephoned Afghanis prior to the outset of the war in 2001 to alert them to take shelter? Or, in 2005 Iraq? |
