Days after the initial leaks about "Israeli spies", it was already pretty obvious there was less there than claimed. Indeed, I was at a Shabbat table hardly a week later when I insisted the case didn`t pass the "smell test". More than four years later, Justice is coming to accept they have little hope of getting a conviction because, well, they don`t have a case. Time to cut their losses.
If the FBI and Justice put half the effort they assign to ferreting out Jews to going after Islamic terrorists in the US, the country would be better off.
Manny, I`m sorry you`ve fallen for the nonsense about AIPAC "espionage". Yes, there are some who want AIPAC registered as a foreign agent, if only to discredit them, but they are not agents. Unlike advocates for Arab interests like Chas Freeman and other former US ambassadors, AIPAC gets its funding from US citizens, not from Israel, and often takes positions at variance with the government in power in Jerusalem. |
