Anti-Semites have misportrayed the charges as if AIPAC was caught in an espionage ring with Pentagon neconservative insiders like Douglas Feith and the Israeli embassy but this is all hokum A subordinate actually tried to go around Feith and co and use AIPAC as a conduit to spread the word about what he felt was underaappreciated Iranian threats--the FBI caught him noseying around a noshfest between the AIPAC guys and their Israeli contacts and intimidated him into offering those guys a (fabricated) document the FBI hatched up about Iranians plotting to kill Israelis and American GIs in Iraq. The three then turned around, leaked it to the press (which is considered a cause for celebration when done by the left) and to the Israeli embassy. After which Rosen and Weissman were busted, but for this incident, not due to some long history of spying.
