| UK MPs are complaining about the miniscule arms exports from Britain to Israel, professedly out of concern for the people of Gaza. Why is there no objection from Westminster to the massive arming of Saudi Arabia by Britain? Saudi Arabia maintains a medieval society, discriminating heavily against women, Christians (who are not allowed to build churches), ill-treats foreign menial labour, and as for its criminal `justice` system, where should we begin to list Saudi travesties against human rights? Yet, not only does Britain sell Saudi Arabia advanced aircraft, missiles and a panoply of other modern weapons and riot control equipment, but the British-based armaments company, BAe has set up manufacturing plants in Saudi Arabia. Where is the proportionality? Dino from Switzerland seems to share Westminster`s partial view of the world, where Israel is judged according to different norms to other countries. Wake up! |
