| Israel doesn`t need the Palestinians or anybody else to validate its self-identity. All it needs is for the Palestinians to renounce the use of violence, to accept Israel`s sovereignty and it`s right to safe and secure borders, and to accept a peace agreement as a final and binding resolution to all claims. Demanding anything other than this -- including a demand for recognition of Israel as a Jewish state -- is just another transparent obstacle erected to avoid serious peace efforts. |
