I oppose this wall as much as anyone else but not for the same reason as everyone else it seems. If all the Palestinians want is an independent state, why should it care that Israel is building a wall that is more or less (with a few notable exceptions) on the Green Line??? Won`t their future state have a border? Don`t most countries secure their borders and prevent the illegal flow of people and goods? There is no racism here or "apartheid" just good security. Why should the Palestinians expect to be allowed into Israel or to trade with them? After all don`t they say that Good fences make good neighbors??
The truth is that the Arabs want ALL of Israel and consider GREEN LINE Israel to be rightfully theirs as well. They don`t want the "West Bank" of the Jordan they want the EAST Bank of the Mediterranean Sea and anything that gets in the way of their expansionist dream of a Greater Palestine will be bitterly opposed. It`s time to drop the pretense and stop the farce... |
