That is a fair point can`t really argue against it, we are required by law to purchase a TV licence to fund the BBC.
However, as I stated in my previous post those who complain about bias are usually biased themselves.
If the BBC programmes in question had upheld the zionist world view of Jerusalem being the eternal capital of the Jews, and the West Bank belonging to the Israelis would they have complained about the programme?
I myself do not have a problem with British Media as a whole, I believe that it is a beacon to the world.
But I will object when a group or organisation with obvious political motives tries to influence the way the BBC operates.
Doesn`t matter if it was this group, Labour, Conservatives or even the Liberal Democrats.
The freedom of the press is sacrosanct in a democracy. By all means lobby for your point of view to be heard but to silence someone because you disagree with their views is incredibly dangerous and should not be allowed. |
