| The common response by Israels supporters in this talkback is to attack critics of Israel without regard to the points they bring forth. Perhaps it is that Israels supporters are unable to mount a credible argument supporting their views. Perhaps there is no credible argument supporting their views. Either way, the cause of Israel is not furthered by calling names and insults at those who criticize the state. If you stipulate that Israel could be doing better in their relations with their neighbors and the world, then criticism of some current policies is in order. To blindly support any action or lack of action taken by politicians is not always in the best interest on the nation. To many of Israels supporters, the only important measure of a person is whether he blindly supports Israel or is critical of Israel. Nothing else matters. This is not a sign of patriotism or even of good sense. Such people are simply "knee jerk" right wingers and are unhelpful to Israels future. |
