| This is an old hat. The theory was aired 40 years ago by geophysicist James Maverick in his book "Voyage to Atlantis", which I bought in Santorini as a student in 1979. It is a serious yet well written book, that explains a lot of the details in the Atlantis story and how they fit into Minoan Crete (Atlantis mainland) and Santtorini (its capital). The tsunami theory came up around 1980 and even got a story in The EDconomist or Newsweek (can`t remember). It is duly quoted in my books "All About Greece" (Hakol al Yavan), Keter Publishing 1989, and "Greece & the Islands" (Yavan ve ha Iim"), Keter Publishing 1994, 1999. |
