I`m sorry, but you and Damon have your own selective ignorance to deal with. While Christian civilization has perhaps finally reached some form of maturity, stability and prosperity, it is quite clear that for about 1900 years it would be very difficult to argue that Christianity actually leads to more moral behavior among its practitioners. Just look at the history of Jews - first in the Land of Israel under Christian rulers (as but ONE example: Justinian was a good Christian - and a violent Jew-hater who persecuted and uprooted villages), then as a minority in Christian countries. Until, that is, they were effectively wiped out in Christian Europe in the mid-20th c. not so long ago.
New World Christian societies are much more tolerant (and multicultural) than others have been, true, but you could hardly blame many Jews, particularly the elderly, for being wary. Christian civilization has given them reason enough.
