| It was set by loud and mistaken Arab bombast and aggression. First by outright refusal of partition (of land that was British by the then Law); a failed coordinated attack by Arab armies on deserate, poorly armed Jews who held the Arabs off but got less than partition promised. And, those we today call the Palestinians got Jordan as their Occupier on the East Bank, West Bank and East Jerusalem and went under Egypts thumb in Gaza, In both cases for 19 years until loud and stupid Arab bombast and threat brought the stunning defeat of Egypt and Jordan and Syria in 1967. The Arab blame for these past sixty years has been handily buried by "sympathy" for the plight of the poor Palestinians. Now, sixty some years later, Abbas carries the same message; our way or the highway. And Israe`s still there an thriving and the Palestinians lose, yet again.There is no greater shame than this continuing Arab bombast and bravado. It has gotten them nothing. |
