| Every year I`m surprised by Pesach. It comes all to soon, true, but it`s always challenging us in our bid to ramp up our observance/consciousness. Even if we were to become vegetarian (we did), it would not have been enough for us! As Ashkenazim in the Diaspora, we still struggle with rulings on Quinoa, a fruiting-body (or berry) that behaves like a grain. Peanuts? Can`t make head nor tail of it - sometimes yes? mostly no? What an interesting religion (as long as one doesn`t get a little too fundamentalist about it, I suppose). Two years ago we celebrated with Sefardim - what a treat that was!
