| Olmert made clear to the Arab world that the softimes are over and Israel is willing to show who has the best army in the region. Israel has been established as the sole super power in the ME. Hezbollah and Hamas as well as Syria know that if they overplay their hand Israel will cut it off. It does not matter whether or not the use of force was required, but what is clear is that the Arabs learned that they should not push Israel too far or they will suffer the consequences. Now it is up for the new Israeli government to seek peace if possible but not to be scared to use force if needed. |
