Sorry guys, I know how excited you are that after the pointless moral mess of Cast Lead, the IDF is here showing that it can target the enemy and kill them a long way away.
Fine. However, it also says other things. It says that Israel is totally lacking in self-confidence if it makes such a big deal out of a pack of Israeli planes slaughtering a few arms smugglers who had no air defence.
It also says that the one thing Israel seems capable of doing in the international arena is killing. Killing in innovative and technically challenging ways, yes, but killing nonetheless.
This achievement Israel seems so proud of will not stop arms smuggling to Gaza. It will not stop the Iranian nuclear programme. It will not provide a strategy for peace. It will not sort out the mess Israel has created in the West Bank.
Grow up guys. When you`re armed to the teeth by the US, being destructive is easy. Being constructive is much harder and you`re not making any progress on that right now |
