That`s the whole point of my 27 words. Only Israel has the power to make peace with the Pals, because it`s a relationship in which Israel holds all the power. However, only the Arab world can make peace with Israel, because Israel has no power or influence over the Arab world whatsoever.
This awkward combination makes peace extremely hard because Israel has little motivation to make peace with the Pals and the Arab world has little motivation to make peace with Israel.
That`s why it`s all linked and all has to happen at once - an act of choreography that seems beyond the complex and contradictory group of players involved.
Probably the only hope is if the US and the Arab League agree a basic deal beforehand and then coordinate their moves to force it on Israel and the Pals. |
