The new realities in the world, the new technologies, the information age, the new armaments and missiles have changed the parameters in which Israel and other countries in the middle east have operated for the past 60 years.
Any peace will be painful to all, the hard line settlers in Israel, the Islamic fanatics, but with world support and time, maybe this is the best and only chance for survival.
Israel risks losing their support amongst western countries should they not step up now and make a concerted effort for peace. The Palestinians are now the suffering party. Things have certainly changed in the past 60 years. The world is different. World War 2 is over. We are hoping to avert World War 3. |
