| I think it`s unfortunate that this article included such a stereotype as: "Ignorance and even denial of the Holocaust is widespread in Palestinian society." I teach at a Palestinian University and not only do I find that all of my students know about the Holocaust, but many of them write essays about it and critically engage in Israeli and Palestinian history. And I don`t believe this is limited to academia, but rather I regularly hear people talking about the Holocaust. I find it an total fallacy to claim that ignorance and denial are widespread. Rather I would argue that an oppressed people do not have the luxury to be ignorant. |
