The UN should report this war crime, but also weigh it against the fact that Ashkelon was a Palestinian town, until 1948 when European settlers began shelling, occupying and then expelling the town`s residents/indigenous population, who, along with their families currently live in the Gaza ghetto. So, does this excuse the launching of homemade rockets from the most impoverished ghetto on earth? Maybe so or maybe not, but there won`t be peace until the roots of the injustice are resolved.
Crimes of course are committed on both sides, but only one side is an occupying ethnic-nationalist settler-state, armed to the teeth, which continues to build settlements/checkpoints, segregate, humiliate, brutalize, exploit and murder an indigenous population with impunity. |
