Philo discusses the Essenes in some detail as well.
But then who are we to toss stones at the blatant attempt of a self-promoter who is out to get their name in the papers by insisting there was only one `source` for the existence of the Essenes.
Actually they are mentioned by a number of authors such as those mentioned, and Hegesippus (via Eseubius) and if I recall correctly Epiphanius of Salamis also mentioned the Essenes. |
