To be sure, Sand is a very late scholar in nationalism`s studies, the peak being in nineteen eighties (B.Anderson, E.Gellner etc; the former gives the Jewish case study one vague sentence, the latter - one paragraph). All other nationalisms were dissected left and right, including the Palestinian (excellent study by Khalidi). Sand`s book is the first printed on the Jewish case study.
