| Haaretz is too kind. His hatred of Israel led him to excuse Al Qaeda attacks on the United States as justifiable given American friendship for the Jewish state and to publicize wide-ranging, if semi-coherent, attacks on the supposedly multi-tentacled and omnipotent "Jewish lobby". His deliberate and self-willed ignorance of the inherent fanatic passions of current Iranian statecraft (seconded by his nominator) are chilling as is his wannabe tough-guy musings that China should have muscled aside the Tianeman demonstrators as subversive rabble. It is difficult to decide which was more disturbing, his Judeophobia or his eagerness to truckle to whatever authoritarian anti-democratic holder of power would pay him off. |
