The only countries that call the West Bank "disputed" territory are Israel & its closest allies. The land is OCCUPIED according to international law. But Israel thumbs its nose at international law and thus calls the land that it has occupied since 1967 "disputed."
But according to the preamble to UN Res 242 it is inadmissible to acquire territory by war and that is exactly how Israel got the land - by war.
It is also more than obvious that by taking the resources and building more and more settlements Israel is not doing anything to try to settle any "dispute" other than to proceed with "facts on the ground" which do nothing to show the Palestinians and the world that Israel desires a peaceful solution to ending occupation or as Israel might say, settling the "dispute." |
