| When Josef Ratzinger was elected Pope it was based on his competence to do the job, not based on what he may have done sixty years earlier when German children were automatically part of Hitler jugend when they reached a certain age. In Sefer Jonah the people of Nineveh were doomed and then saved because they repented and G-d judges us by how we are now, not sixty years ago. We also don`t remind converts or baalei teshivah of their past. We view them in the present. |
