| Israel seems to be adept at closing doors of hope. The greater the opportunity for agreement, the less agreeable they become. It`s quite frustrating. Is it about leverage? Leverage depends on inequality, and I`m thinking that this fluctuation is designed to drag out the peace process until `facts on the ground` make compromise an unreasonable prospect...then the same people who designed the scenario will point at it and feign the victim of circumstance. I thought it was just a small circle of hardliners who wanted to disrupt the process, but I see now that it`s a great percentage of Israeli voters as well. How long will they spit in the face of their enemy and be shocked at the response? |
