| Hard to see how the UN can ever elevate itself higher than its weakest links (esp. the Arab nations and their African tyrant-friends). The ideals of modern, secular Western democracies are simply under attack by the leaders of politically unevolved `nation`s, these laggards in the human development tables (literacy, women`s rights and so on - Arab states are at the bottom). Israel is merely their whipping-boy - just too easy to pick an unpopular boy from the other side to pick on, esp. one that lives so close to these sorts of entities. Good fences make good neighbours in the event, and a strong army helps. I wonder if the West will finally rise up as one and put an end to such foolishness as "Durban II - The Wrath of Khan (and Ahmedinejad)". |
