Appointing such an ineffecive pro-Israeli think tanker to head the US`Gulf Affairs is by itself a dumb strategy that will pre-empt any potential success in starting and maintaining a dialogue with Iran. He will be, quite rightly, a Persona non grata in Tehran. Those think tankers, as well as their report, are irrelevant.
