Where have we heard this before? The common theme of all authotarian attacks on insular and vulnerable minorities is to first create a false-memory/history in the minds of the larger body politic and then to provide a "theory" that explains how this unjust "history" was the direct result of actions of the insular and vulnerable minority.
The Arab governments and their fellow travelers have argued for decades of the "original sin" of Israel`s creation based upon the false-memory/history of a dislocated Palestinian "nation". Now they are moving to the next step in their quest to deligitimize Israel (and thus dehumanize Jews) just as Nazi`s dehumanized Jews, Hutus dehumanized Tutsis, or Bosnian Serbs dehumanized Bosnian Muslims. So now, at Durbin II Jews (i.e. Israelis) are a unique threat to the world, an indentifiable collective soley responsible for war, hunger and human suffering. What solution will be proposed? |
