There is death penalty for treason in the US, especially with the anti-terror laws approved after 9/11. As for Jews spying for Israel in the USA, they are not charged with treason because Israel is a friendly country. So, if you tried to equate this case with Pollard`s, I am afraid your comparison is not accurate. Pollard was charged with passing classified information to a foreign government. But the information was not intended to damage US targets. In the case of this Arab guy, he might be charged with treason for spying for a hostile nation, and yes, the information he intended to pass on was for damaging the State of Israel. |
