Aluf Benn : ANALYSIS / Why isn't Netanyahu backing two-state solution?
Talkback
Title:Many of us have already lost faith in a two-state solution

I personally do not believe anymore the two-state solution can work (at least when it comes to the West Bank) and looking at past history I doubt it ever could.

Many Israelis are not able to emotionally detach themselves from the Biblical heart land, and those that can, are unable to trust the Palestinians with their security.

Many Palestinians cannot give up the idea of controlling all of Palestine and the refugee issue, On top of that the Fatah government is very weak.

Neither of these things are good or bad, they are simply facts. That being said I can only see three options, beyond the status quo of course.

First is a Bi-national or one state solution. Giving the WB Palestinians the option of citizenship, and may include some kind of autonomy rights.

The second is some option with Jordan, either giving them most of the WB or some joint control/confederation mixture.

The third would be the transfer option, the question is whether it will be by force or bribing.
