| In US you make the pledge of allegiance when you obtain US citizenship not a green card. The Pledge of Allegiance to the United States flag is an oath of loyalty to the country. It is recited at many public events. Congress sessions open with the recitation of the Pledge. In US children in school make the pledge of allegiance to their country every day before the school starts. Any elected official makes the pledge to US as part of his office taking process. If you are advocating destruction of the country you leave in you are considered a traitor and can go to jail in most of the countries. (please give me an example besides Israel when this is not true). What is shocking that this issue is even discussed and when the Arab members of Israeli parliament will not pledge allegiance to the country they are citizens off. It is also shocking that Liberman is called a fascists because of this very modest demand. This only shows hostility of Arabs to the Israeli state and their intention to destroy it. Should they be citizens of this sate? Can this be tolerated in any country besides Israel? |
