| of principle. Hence, they will never accept anything less than total withdrawl from the Golan. The isolation imposed by the Bush administration is already at an end and is no longer a bargaining chip. The reality is that it may actually take MORE than the Golan for Israel to pacify Syria. Right now they have a very positive image in the Arab world for assisting Hamas and Hisbullah in resisting Israel. This they will loose if they are seen to be weak in accepting a poor deal with Israel. |
