AI seems to rush to judgment with "could" and "might" re war-crimes accusations.

Undoubtedly Israel attempted to fight the cleanest war possible, w/more precise weapons than anyone`s used previously. Even tho in an area w/a dense civilian population, and the adversary not cooperating by stepping from behind those shields.

You`d think AI`d give Israel some applause for the effort.

Their numbers seem double those from other sources. Israel received about $1.5 billion in direct military aid--from US mfrs--and $750 million in other aid in 2008. In 6 years that would be $9+ billion, not $21 billion. The CBO said Israel received about $100 billion over 60 years. Perhaps Ms. Hass can investigate.

Egypt of course gets nearly as much. Has a terrible human-rights record. No doubt AI is equally exercised about this.

Stockholm peace institute lists the top 20 military spenders each year. List often includes Iran and S. Arabia. Both are potential threats to Israel. Israel`s never on that list.
