| It`s obvious that Olmert`s tenure as prime-minister of Israel has not been a great success, to put it mildly. Peace is as, if not more illusive than ever. Two wars that in the end did not go well for Israel at all. And the Shalit case ofcourse! Which has been handled poorly from the start. Someone has to pay for Olmerts frustrations and Amos Gilad has made himself an easy target with his indiscretions. But dismissing such an experienced negotiator does not bode well for Shalit`s fate. And with it`s last U-turn in the negotiations Israel has offended the Egyptions ( again ) too. Hamas has made it perfectly clear what it wants. You may or may not agree with their actions but they are fairly consistent with regards to Shalit. It`s the Israeli government that keeps flip-flopping it`s way out of every deal! |
