I realize that Obama is hewing to the traditional American course of making no radical changes in US foreign policy without review.

The basic problem here is that the US foreign policy objective he is hewing to, the Two State Solution, is no longer possible.

What could have been had the Clinton administration been more firm, or had the Bush administration not been dedicated to opposing everything his father had tried to achieve, is no longer an option.

Too many new settlements, too much expansion of settlements, too many illegal outposts and settlements. Too many divisions on the West Bank and Gaza has been rendered a Ghetto.

The reality is that Israel has invested it`s future in gaining sole possession of Judea and Samaria (to the extent of abandoning settlements in Gaza). Israel has, in it`s democratic wisdom, rushed so far to the right that any compromise is politically impossible.

Time to help the Pals move on, and out.

Not to pursue a dead policy.
