Democracy is one of those things that always seems to be on the side of the person talking. From Thai protesters demanding democracy by removing from power the elected Government twice in a year.
From Livni to Bibi to every journalist in the world. Democracy is always on your side.
The truth is that Lieberman`s power was given to him by the voters, by the people. There was no power given to anyone to oppose him (how far did Meretz`s `opposite of Lieberman` get them?). He may be anti-democratic in the wider sense (racism, his citizenship ideals, etc) as gets cited by those who cannot get democracy into their camp with less frills. But a presidential/journalist alliance to remove a leader representing 25% of secular Jews in Israel? No democracy issues here?
Lieberman was chosen. By a mature democracy. Among many choices. Frankly & Honestly. |
