The Palestinian population originates from outside the land of Israel.

Most Palestinians descend from Nabateans. These were Aramean beduin from the outlands of Syria and Jordan, who mass-converted to Christianity in the Byzantine Period. They stopped speaking Aramaic and adopted Greek.

These Nabateans moved into the land of Israel, filling the vacuum after the Romans genocided the Jews of Judea.

Later, many Nabateans converted to Islam and mixed with the invading Arabians of the Islamic Empire who colonized all the lands from Morocco to Iraq. Thus Muslim Israelis are Nabatean and Arabian and speak Arabic.

Altho indigenous Christian Israelis speak Arabic culturally, they are Nonarabs with apparently no Arab ancestry. Historically Muslims tended to kill Arab Muslims who converted to Christianity.

The surviving Christian populations in Israel, like elsewhere in the Mideast (Coptics in Egypt, Maronites in Lebanon, Chaldees in Iraq, etc.), are Nonarab.
