Mizrahi was wrong to get involved, because the army should stay as far away from politics as possible.

And, personally, I hope our relationship with the Turks survives this current crisis, and gets stronger.

But the massacre was a genocide, and that`s the simple truth. The Turks need to get over their pride on this issue.

The foreign ministry should have never used this issue to gain favor with the Turkish government. It is the height of hypocrisy. We can`t go around demanding that other countries make Holocaust denial illegal (and these laws are wrong on principle and also counter-productive, by the way, but that is besides the point) and then turn around and deny someone else`s Holocaust.

The term "genocide" was first coined specifically to describe what happened to the Armenians. I`m ashamed that my country would ignore this truth in order to score a few (very few as we learned recently) political points.
