the attendance of united states is imperitive to its leadership role in world affairs. and israel`s "hiding" from the controversial issues that might be raised during this conference amounts to an admission of guilt as far as i`m concerned. if it had the means to show that any accusations against it were unfounded, what purpose does it serve by boycotting the conference? but it has none!
and why should the u.s. damage its own image, and ITS stance against racism and human rights abuses, by siding with a known culprit.
israel has a longstanding history of human rights violations, racist policies, and a complete disregard for any suggestion to change by either the united states, or the united nations.
and israel labeling the conference "anti-semitic" and refusing to attend, is an obvious attempt to defame those who DO, and to undermine its credibility...with that "oh-so-weary" label that has long since LOST any significance because of it`s abuse by the zionists to discredit "valid" criticisms.
