| Efrat is the largest city in the Etzion block. Any final status deal will require its transfer to Israel proper, and will be a definite deal breaker. Unlike some of the other blocks like Ariel (which is deep in the West Bank) or Ma`ale Adumim (which has the potential to separate Judah from Samaria) Etzion is compact and borders Israeli territory. Israel could add 100,000 individuals to area and it would not change a single thing. |
