| The problem that the Americans will face with such "demands" is that any Government will simply and honestly point to Mr Liberman and say "our hands are tied". Mr Liberman will save Israel a lot of grief. What pressure can the Americans exert on Mr Liberman that he cannot take? Are they going to punish Israel because of Mr Liberman? That would surely backfire on the Administration. In any event I believe that Mr Obama is more clever than commentators seem to give him credit. He wants results not a standoff. |
