Still, I think that the percentage of Gazan combatants killed was somewhere between 55% and 60% and not 67%. If we use the Palestinian total of 1330 killed and accept their claim that 300 children were killed and assume that all Gazans under the age of 18 were innocent civilians, then given that the median age of a Gazan is 17.2 years, then statistically, there should have been about 600 civilians of all ages killed or about 45% with the remaining 55% being enemy combatants. The UN claims that about 40% were civilians and 60% combatants.
Either way, that`s well within the "acceptable" norms for collateral damage during an armed conflict. |
