Gideon, we don`t need your declarations of what is permitted, because for some of us on the Israeli street, Zionism and the left have always gone indisputably inseparable, and we are the ones who have taken action as the REAL Zionists.
The left has lost to the flawed electoral system that caused many voters to engage in a tactical vote for Kadima, and we have lost to politicians who have not acted and remained silent while we fight for what we consider to be Zionist values on the street while our MKs abandon us.
The Israeli left is dead in the Knesset, but it is alive on the street, and very much Zionist. The real Zionists fight against the killing of civilians in Gaza, the stealing of Palestinian land and water, the needless harassment of Palestinians at checkpoints, the destruction of Bedouin homes in the Negev, and many other acts committed by a government in which their values no longer have representation. |
