Roi Ben-Yehuda : Netanyahu, Rabbi Hillel and a Jewish notion of self-respect
Talkback
Title:It`s Roi who`s saying, "Sock it to me."
Name:DJStahl

Roi says no economic incentives "will lead Palestinians to abandon...their dream of self-determination."

Where does Roi find evidence that most Palestinians have any dream at all of "self-determination"? Both Hamas and Fatah are revanchist.

They regard all of Israel, within the Green Line, as properly theirs. The Trojan horse idea of "right of return" is a softer expression of it, maintained by Arafat, and by Fatah to this day.

The withdrawal from southern Lebanon in 2000 got more Israelis killed, more Christian Arabs killed, and made the frontier less safe. It also stimulated the intifada that Arafat began a few months later.

The withdrawal from Gaza in 2005 led to thousands of artillery rockets and mortar shells launched at Israel, dozens of Israelis killed, and thousands of Arabs killed.

Where in document or in past events does Roi perceive any sign that Palestinians wish "self-determination"? To many, such views as Roi`s seem like willful blindness.
